Government Guest Palace

Middle East, 2009

This imposing and austere palace, destined to greet delegations and guests of the state, is a refined example of a successful restoration and renovation project conducted on an existing building. The key was to integrate and consolidate the existing structures, while meeting the brief to produce a luxurious home with a high standard of comfort.

The result: a space where grandeur and majesty are to the fore, and where nothing has been overlooked. Large areas are adorned with stucco walls, while elaborate ceilings with decorative elements framing unique and precious chandeliers, trompe l'oeil, gold leaf and painted decorations are the architectural elements that define the spaces.

The floors are entirely composed of prized marbles - Yellow Siena, Calacatta and Sodalite. With their bright, distinct colours they frame the marble mosaics that have been rigorously made to custom designs. Throughout, the carefully selected fabrics and prestigious woods used for the furniture and curtains are a real triumph of taste, with intricate and unique inlays embedded in the furnishings contributing to an atmosphere of refined opulence, fully prepared to offer guests a magnificent welcome.
